Continuing from yesterdays thought of, "if hearts had teeth," came a walrus-like creature. Naturally. :) I swear I was aiming to create a heart with teeth, but one thing led to another.

Today I felt a need to loosen up and splash some watered down gouache on a page. Some days just call for that. While drawing this I thought, "if hearts had teeth." A thought for later.

I thought about many patterns today and one thing lead to another. Patterns somehow comfort me.

Pressing on time but I finished this just before the end of day. This was an idea stuck in my head since drawing the blow fish yesterday. A mutant me. :)

Took to my micron pen today and kept things a bit more minimal. Images of plopping fish and octopuses came into my mind but I decided not to look for a reference but just go with it.

Here's the first drawing to kick off this one year project. I'm super excited to do this and can't wait to see what happens. For this first drawing I took on my favorite media- india ink and gouache! While abstract, I always find a figurative element to these drawings as well.
